Acer is one of many companies with big announcements at CES 2023. New gaming laptops from Acer, including the Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios 18, have been announced for the new year.
Acer Predator Helios 16 & Acer Predator Helios 18:
Acer Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18, one of the world’s first 18-inch gaming laptops, are the stars of the show. Both laptops feature 16:10 displays, which means they’re taller than a 16:9 screen, and that’s one reason they’re this size. The laptops also come with fantastic display options, including AUO AmLED-powered Mini LED panels with a 250Hz refresh rate. It has a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and over 1000 nits of peak brightness, with a mini LED display having multiple dimming zones that are individually controlled. Over 1000 dimming zones are available on the 18-inch model.
Additionally, the laptops come with the latest hardware from Intel and Nvidia. In addition to the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs, they come with an Intel Core i9 processor from the 13th-generation HX series, which has a default TDP of 55W. Further, the laptops come with up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Acer’s 5th-generation AeroBlade 3D fans and a liquid metal thermal interface help keep the internal components cool.
With a mostly black chassis and a sleek look throughout, all of this comes in a new design language. There are a variety of connectivity options on the laptops, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6E as well as Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB Type-A, and HDMI 2.1.
