With the AirPods, Apple has a very successful lineup of audio products, especially the in-ear true wireless earbuds. Additionally, the company regularly releases new models to ensure it stays on top of its game.
AirPods remain the world’s best-selling true wireless earbuds, but they are expensive and not for everyone. The company is reportedly planning to launch a low-cost model of AirPods early next year, which could change that.
Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo claims Apple plans to launch more affordable AirPods around $99. The company is also working on the second generation of AirPods Max, over-ear headphones.
It is rumored that both the $99 (Rs.10,000/-) AirPods and the second-generation AirPods Max will be mass marketed in 2024 or early 2025.
At the moment, the cheapest AirPods model available is the second-generation AirPods, which cost $129, while the third-generation model costs $169 with a Lightning charging case, and the MagSafe case costs $179.
Since the second-gen AirPods are usually available at a discounted price of $99, it remains to be seen what features Apple adds to the cheaper AirPods.
