Two new foldable phones are reportedly in development by Vivo for the Chinese market. The company plans to launch the Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip in the first half of 2022, according to reliable tipster Digital Chat Station. The tipster shared the X Fold 2’s key specifications.
Vivo X Fold 2 will feature a foldable screen with a resolution of 2K, according to the tipster. The front and inner displays will both have under-screen fingerprint scanners.
It will have a Sony IMX866 primary camera with OIS. The foldable phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The device seems to be lightweight. Vivo X Fold, which debuted in the first half of 2022, is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The X Fold+, which came with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, weighs the same. This month, Oppo launched the Find N2 foldable phone in China. It is therefore likely that Vivo is working on reducing the weight of the X Fold 2.
Besides the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, not much is known about the Vivo X Flip. It was claimed by the tipster that Vivo will not launch a successor to the Vivo X Note.
