A launch date has just been announced by Xiaomi for the Redmi Note 12 Pro series. In addition to revealing the smartphone announcement, the company hinted at one of its key specifications. So let’s have a look.

A tweet from the Chinese tech giant shared the launch date and teaser earlier today (12th December 2022). According to the online post, the upcoming Note 12 Pro series will be released on 5th January 2022. In addition, it has been confirmed that the Note 12 Pro+ will feature a large 200-megapixel rear camera. Moreover, a link to the company’s official website offered prospective buyers a chance to learn more.

Xiaomi will hold its SuperNote event on January 5, which we’ve reported previously.

Redmi Note 12 Pro series:

The new Redmi Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro+, and Note 12 Explorer Edition will sport 6.67 inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a peak brightness of 900 nits and supports 10-bit colors, Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HDR10+.

All three devices are powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC coupled with 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space. Here comes the change where the three devices get different pairs of cameras.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro will feature a 50MP main Sony IMX766 sensor (f/1.88) with OIS support. Whereas the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ & Redmi Note 12 Pro Explorer Edition gets a new 200MP Samsung HPX sensor (f/1.65) with OIS support. The remaining two sensors are the same on all three models with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors. All three devices will ship with a 16MP selfie shooter. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner with IR Blaster support.

The connectivity options include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, a USB-C port, a linear motor, dual stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Redmi Note 12 Pro & Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus packs 5000 mAh battery with 67W and 120W fast charge support respectively. Lastly, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Explorer will pack a 4300 mAh battery and whopping 210W fast charge support.

All three devices still run on Android 12 OS with MIUI 13 on top.
