The brand celebrated its ninth anniversary on Saturday with several notable announcements about its future plans. Over the next three years, Oppo will invest CNY 10 billion ($1.43 billion) in OnePlus as part of OnePlus’ new strategic partnership.
With the new “dual-brand” strategy, OnePlus will be the pioneer brand for flagship smartphones. OnePlus products will also have a zero net profit margin to maintain the best features and quality at their respective price points.
In China, OnePlus phones will be sold exclusively online, returning to the company’s roots, while customers can get repairs at Oppo service centers.
The latest OnePlus phones and accessories are already available on Oppo’s Chinese online store. Finally, the OnePlus community app has been re-launched in China to help OnePlus fans discuss, share, and talk about all things OnePlus.
