Following the announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, smartphone brands are scrambling to launch their first flagships powered by the new chip. The first smartphone equipped with the latest processor is the Vivo X90 Pro+. Additionally, Xiaomi and iQOO will be releasing flagship devices soon. Also, Motorola is not leaving behind, it will launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Moto X40 in December.

In a Weibo post, Chen Jin, General Manager of Lenovo’s Mobile Division, confirmed that the Motorola Moto X40 will be dust and water-resistant. In addition, he confirmed the handset would be available in China in December. It was not clear when the launch would take place. The smartphone is expected to debut in the first half of the month.

In addition to revealing the Moto X40’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, Jin also revealed its AnTuTu benchmark scores. SD 8 Gen 2 scores reveal a significant improvement in performance over MediaTek Dimensity 9200. According to the test results, the former scored 1312901, while the latter received 1266101.
