While the Dimensity 8200 isn’t official, we already know it will power Xiaomi Redmi phones and the upcoming iQOO 7 SE. We now have the SoC’s key specs, thanks to the prolific tipster Digital Chat Station.
In a different configuration and at higher clock speeds, it would employ the same 4x Cortex-A78 and 4x Cortex-A55 cores. Two clusters of Cortex-A78s will be used – one with a clock speed of 3.1 GHz and one with a speed of 3.0 GHz. A total of four Cortex-A55 cores remain at 2.0 GHz.
MediaTek bumped the clock speeds quite a bit over the Dimensity 8100’s Cortex-A78, which runs at 2.85 GHz. However, the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU remains unchanged. According to the tipster, the SoC’s AnTuTu performance is likely to exceed 900,000 points.
A few price predictions are provided for future Redmi and iQOO smartphones based on the silicon mentioned in the report. There is no expectation that they will exceed CNY 2,000, or Rs.23,000/-. While this price does not include taxes and other price components in western markets, it still sounds quite competitive.
