So far, Apple has launched three versions of the iPhone SE, its budget iPhone model. As for the upcoming iPhone SE 4, the company has a few major changes planned.
According to recent reports, Apple’s new iPhone SE 4 smartphone will be a flagship killer smartphone and a threat to many Android devices when it goes official in Spring 2023.
As of now, the Apple iPhone SE has sold well, but it has not been a flagship killer or a best-value offering, but that is about to change with the upcoming model.
It is likely that the phone will come with an updated design, at least for the SE series. The device is expected to have a similar design to the iPhone XR. Hence, there’s a chance that SE will be offering Face ID instead of Touch ID in that case.
Specs:
For the upcoming iPhone SE 4, we are likely to see the same 6.1-inch 720p LCD display as the iPhone XR. With most smartphones nowadays offering Full HD 1080p displays and high refresh rates, this will be really disappointing. It could have an IP67 rating and a battery capacity of 3,000mAh with fast charging support of 20W and wireless charging support of 7.5W.
It may use the A15 SoC found on the iPhone 14 lineup or the A16 Bionic processor found in the newly launched Apple iPhone 14 Pro series. The back camera may be 12MP and the front camera might be 7MP.
It is reported that Apple iPhone SE 4 will be available sometime next year, but based on Apple’s track record, this seems unlikely. The underwhelming sales of the iPhone 14 series may account for the early launch of Apple iPhone SE 4. More information will come as soon as possible.
