On October 1st, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services in India. Jio and Airtel have already announced their plans to roll out 5G in select cities. In addition, OEMs have to push OTA updates to enable 5G support to Android/iOS smartphones so users can enjoy 5G services. A few Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, and OPPO phones have already received support. On Airtel’s official website, Motorola was not listed.
According to Motorola, it is now one of the smartphone manufacturers in India with the highest percentage of 5G devices. All 8 Sub 6GHz 5G bands that have been announced in India are supported by the company’s smartphones across categories. In addition, it provided a timeline for the software’s availability.
On Motorola devices, the OTA update will enable 5G across both SA (Reliance Jio) and NSA (Airtel and Vi) modes simultaneously.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion is already receiving the OTA update. According to the company, completion is expected by the first week of November 2022. Below is the list of devices that will receive the 5G support OTA update.
Moto G62, Moto G71, Moto G82 & Motorola Edge 30 will receive the update on 25/10/2022 in India. The second list of devices includes Motorola Edge 30 Pro, Moto G51 5G, Moto Edge 20 Pro, Moto Edge 20 & Moto Edge 20 Fusion will get updated on 05/11/2022.
