Today, Sony unveiled the Xperia 5 IV. A new compact flagship smartphone from the Japanese electronics giant brings meaningful upgrades. New features include a larger battery, wireless charging, and improved cameras. Here are some of the things you can find there.

Design:

 

The new Xperia 5 IV reminds us of the Xperia 1 IV as it looks similar to it. It features triple rear cameras with a ToF sensor aligned vertically and the arrangement is similar to Xperia Pro. It comes with premium metal chassis with a glossy glass back. The Sony Xperia 5 IV will also feature a microSD card slot along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It measures 8.2 mm thick and weighs 172g. The Sony Xperia 5 IV comes in Ecru White, Black and Green colour.

Specs:

The new Sony Xperia 5 IV will sport the 6.1 inches FHD+ HDR OLED panel on the front. Do note that the FHD+ panel will even come with a 120Hz refresh rate along with HDR10+ and 10bit colour depth support. It also features TRILUMINOS Display for mobile, X-Reality for mobile, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on both the front and back of the device.

 

The new Sony Xperia 5 IV is powered by SD 8Gen 1 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space. It also gets MicroSD card support.

 

It will feature triple rear cameras with 12MP (f/1.7) 1/1.7″ Exmor RS  main 82-degrees main lens coupled with 12MP 1/2.5” Exmor RS ultra-wide with f/2.3 aperture and 12MP periscopic telephoto lens with 2.5x optical & 7.5x Hybrid zoom along with aZEISS quality lenses, ZEISS T* Coating. The device comes with 16mm ultra-wide, 24mm wide, and 85-125mm telephoto.

 

It gets 7.5x Hybrid zoom with RGB-IR and OIS support. The rear camera can record 4K HDR movies recording 24, 25, 30, 60, and 120fps slow-motion. It also gets Optical SteadyShot with FlawlessEye 14, and SteadyShot with Intelligent Active Mode (5-axis stabilization) support. There is a  1/2.9” Exmor sensor 12MP selfie camera on the front.

It runs on Android 12 OS with Sony UI on top. It also features IP65/68 rating which makes the device dust and water-resistant. All this is packed with a 5000 mAh battery with 30W fast charging &  Qi Wireless charging support.

The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 4G, 5G, LTE, and VoLTE support, Wifi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, A-GPS, NFC, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm audio jack. The device comes with stereo speakers with DSEE HX, LDAC, and Dolby Atmos support.

The source reveals that Sony Xperia 5 IV will set you back with a price tag of 1049 Euros (Rs.79,800/-). It will go on sale later this month.
