The Echo Dot has been updated with three new models: the standard Echo Dot, the Echo Dot with Clock, and the Echo Dot Kids. For the most part, all three models are identical.
Amazon Echo Dot 5:
Despite its size, the standard Echo Dot now is equipped with a custom full-range driver, which boasts the highest excursion of any Echo Dot.
With the Echo Dot’s temperature sensor, you can now ask Alexa to turn on your smart fan when it gets too hot. Additionally, there is an accelerometer that enables tap gestures.
In 2019, Amazon acquired Eero, a mesh networking company, which will be a useful addition to the service. They act as mesh wireless extenders to improve Wi-Fi performance throughout your home with Eero Built-in. With each unit, you can expand your network coverage by more than 1000 square feet.
Eero Built-in will also be added to Amazon’s 4th Gen Echo and 4th Gen Echo Dot models. The former will get it on October 20 and the latter in the coming months.
Unlike the standard model, the 5th Gen Echo Dot with Clock features a high-density dot matrix display. Aside from the time, Alexa also displays the title and artist of the current song, the weather, a calculation or unit of measurement, calendar event times, and more.
There are two unique patterns available for the Echo Dot Kids, Owl, and Dragon. Subscribers to Amazon Kids+ will also receive new Alexa voices tailored to each variant. A one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ and a two-year worry-free guarantee is included.
Amazon’s Echo Dot is priced at $50 (Rs.4100/-), while the Echo Dot with Clock and Echo Dot Kids are priced at $60 (Rs.4900/-).
In addition, Amazon announced the 2nd Generation Echo Auto model to be used in cars. A slimmer design and an adhesive mount allow for more placement flexibility. It costs $55 (Rs.4500/-).
