In addition to unveiling the Mix Fold 2, Xiaomi will also unveil the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition at the same event on August 11, the Chinese brand announced today. The device will be marketed as Redmi K50 Ultra.
Redmi hasn’t detailed the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition’s specs sheet yet, but it might be the rumoured Redmi K50S Pro, which is said to feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 200MP primary camera, and 6.67″ 120Hz AMOLED display. According to reports, the phone will also come with a battery rated at 5,000 mAh and a charging capacity of 120W.
Besides the Mix Fold 2 and Redmi K50 Extreme Edition, Xiaomi will also unveil the Pad 5 Pro 12.4″, Buds 4 Pro TWS earphones, and Watch S1 Pro at tomorrow’s event.
Redmi K50 Ultra:
Taking a closer look at the K50 Ultra, the new Redmi flagship device appears to be similar to Xiaomi’s 12 series models. On the front, a punch hole selfie camera sits in the centre, while on the back, three image sensors are arranged in a large module. According to reports, the K50 Ultra will come with a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2K resolution, and LTPO 2.0 technology.
On the front of the phone is a 20MP selfie camera, and on the back is a triple camera setup with 108MP. Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is set to power the Redmi K50 Ultra. The device will be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack, which may also support fast charging up to 120W. The internal storage is UFS 3.1 and has LPDDR5 RAM.
A 12GB + 256GB variant may also be available along with an 8GB + 128GB model. Connectivity options will also include WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. For now, take this report with a grain of salt since it’s unconfirmed.
