The Vivo Y-series smartphone has been launched in Hong Kong. A new 4G smartphone has been unveiled by Vivo, the Y16. Vivo Y35, which was announced recently, has a very similar design to the Y16. There is a rectangular camera module on the back of the device and a flat frame design with curved corners. Dual cameras are housed in two large cutouts on the phone.
There are two colours available for the Y16 – Stellar Black and Drizzling Gold. The dimensions are 163.95×75.55×8.19mm. Polycarbonate is used for the frame and back of the phone. The device weighs about 183 grams.
Out of the box, the Y16 4G runs Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12. With a 6.51-inch HD+ display and a waterdrop notch above the 5MP front camera, it has 6.51-inch screen. This display has a fairly thick chin bezel.
The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Furthermore, it supports Extended RAM 2.0 and offers 1GB of additional virtual RAM. With the Y16, you can expand your storage by using a microSD card. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery. The USB Type-C port supports 10W charging.
A 13MP main camera is part of a dual-camera setup on the back. Additionally, there is a 2MP secondary sensor on the phone. Dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported.
Currently, the company has not disclosed the phone’s pricing.
