Nio recently announced that it was working on its first-ever smartphone. The popular EV maker’s first smartphone has been revealed in a new report.

The chipset that will power this new handset and its charging capacity have been revealed, according to an ArenaEV report. Nio, which is based in China, is a well-known manufacturer of electric vehicles. According to the brand’s founder, a new phone would be launched a year, and it would be a high-end flagship.
Nio’s upcoming smartphone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, according to the latest report. Therefore, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, Qualcomm’s latest and greatest smartphone chip, is the most likely candidate. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is likely to be used in the first smartphone in question, given that it is set to launch next year. In addition, the report says the smartphone will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and a punch hole camera at the front along with a QHD+ curved display.
Qualcomm chips are already used in Nio’s infotainment system for its EVs. Snapdragon 8155 chips are included in this category. We can also expect a custom skin for the smartphone since the brand has developed its own OS for the EV’s interface. According to the report, the Nio handset will feature a battery that supports 100W fast charging, with a capacity of around 4,500mAh to 4,800mAh.
