Earlier this year, Google teased photos of its Pixel 7 and 7 Pro and confirmed it would use a second-generation Tensor SoC. Since then, we’ve seen a few live images, but now we’re getting a full look at the hardware in Unbox Therapy’s video.
A caliper was used by Louis to measure the hardware. In comparison, the Google Pixel 6 Pro measures 163.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm, while the Pixel 7 Pro is slightly narrower at 73.2mm wide and has just 0.1mm less thickness. A camera bar on both Pro phones measures 11.5mm thick.
There is a slight difference in length between the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 is a bit narrower as well. 158.6mm is the length of the Pixel 6. Plus, the Pixel 7 is 13.2 mm wider than the Pixel 6.
Pixel 7 Pro appears to have less aggressive tapering of the edge display, while Pixel 7 has a more anodized aluminium look. Additionally, these models lack the two-tone finishes of the Pixel 6 lineup. There may be a reason for this since they are prototypes.
Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be available for pre-order starting October 6 with general availability on October 13. These dates may change since Google has acknowledged them.
