Nothing has now announced the much-awaited smartphone of this year with the new Nothing Phone (1). After various leaks and teasers, the device is finally official. The Nothing Phone (1) will be available in two colors White & Black. The Nothing Phone (1) will be exclusive to Flipkart in India and goes on sale from July 21.
Design:
The Nothing Phone (1) will come with a transparent back with a wireless charging coil as the only thing visible. So the device features a partially transparent back this time. Apart from that, there are dual rear cameras aligned vertically with Nothing branding on the bottom edge of the device.
The unique thing is the presence of 900 LED light-up strips across the camera & charging coil. ‘Glyph interface’ is the LED system.’ It glows when wireless charging and lights up when notifications are received. The LED system is also linked to ringtones. Using them, you could select a specific ringtone for a specific contact and be able to distinguish the caller even when muted, based on the LED pattern.
The Nothing Phone (1) gets metal chassis with flat edges on all the sides. The power button is on the right & volume rockers are on the left side of the device.
On the front, the new Nothing Phone (1) sports a punch-hole notch which is placed on the top-left corner of the display. The device comes with an almost bezel-less flat display with no bezels on the chin portion. Sadly, it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Specs:
The new Nothing Phone (1) will sport a 6.55 inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glas protection both front as well as back. Sadly, Nothing Phone (1) is powered by SD778G+ SoC coupled with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage.
The new Nothing Phone (1) will feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 (f/1.8) main sensor along with a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide sensor with LED flash. There is a 16MP selfie shooter under the punch-hole notch. It packs a 4500 mAh battery with 45W fast charge support. It also comes with 15W wireless charging support & 5W reverse charging feature.
The Nothing Phone (1) will run on Android 12 OS with Nothing OS on top. Sadly, no charger is included in the retail package.
The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with 5G, Dual 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, A-GPS, NFC, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, and in-display fingerprint scanner.
Pricing:
The Nothing Phone (1) will cost over Rs.32,999/- for 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB at Rs.35,999/- & Rs.38,999/- for 12GB+256GB. The 45W charging brick cost Rs.2499/- in India. The launch offers include flat Rs.2000/- discount for HDFC Bank Credit card users. Nothing is also offering flat Rs.1000/- off on the first sale.
