The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was the first of Samsung’s Fan Edition (FE) phones. Then we got the Galaxy S21 FE. According to a new rumor from “multiple sources,” Samsung will not be releasing the Galaxy S22 FE, despite logic suggesting it would.
After only two years, the company might be ready to retire its FE smartphones. Fans who wanted a cheaper option with a flagship chipset from the Korean company but weren’t willing to spend as much as S series flagships now cost may not like this move.
Samsung struggled to release the Galaxy S21 FE almost a year after the rest of the S21 family launched. Rumors suggested that this was due to the ongoing chip crisis at the time. In only a few weeks, the S22 line overtook the S21 FE in the spotlight. However, this isn’t a good reason to stop releasing FE phones – it’s just a good reason to release them sooner after non-FE models.
