Qualcomm launched the first flagship chip globally in Dec 2021 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. We even saw many top flagship devices launching along with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Now we probably have some shocking news from the chipset world which reveals that Qualcomm will soon stop the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC completely.

Yes, the new report reveals that Qualcomm is trying to replace the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC i.e made by TSMC. The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC is made by Samsung and is based on a 4nm process. The reason for this step is Samsung currently facing huge issues in manufacturing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. This led Qualcomm to move with TSMC for the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC.

The report also revealed that again the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC will be based on the same 4nm process but with improved technology. It also gets a new model number with SM8475 over the current SM8450. Further, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC will come with higher clocked speeds with better and improved CPU & also gets power efficient. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC is likely to make its debut with Xiaomi 12 Ultra  or Xiaomi Mix 5.
