After the success of the Dimensity lineup of chipsets, we saw many brands preferring MediaTek over Qualcomm. Probably due to the cheaper price tag and improved performance with a huge set of 5G bands support. In the past, we saw reports suggesting about MediaTek plans to introduce two new flagship chipsets with Dimensity 8000 & Dimensity 9000 SoC.
Now we have got a new leak from a popular Chinese tipster revealing about MediaTek’s next chipset Dimensity 8100 SoC. Yes, the tipster has now revealed that MediaTek is planning to introduce the success to Dimensity 8000 SoC with Dimensity 8100 SoC. The tipster also revealed that major brands were asked to replace the Dimensity 8000 SoC with latest Dimensity 8100 SoC.
Not only that the source also mentioned that Dimensity 8100 SoC will be official by March 1 in China. The Dimensity 8100 SoC will have higher clocked CPU frequencies when compared with Dimensity 8000 SoC. As per the report, the Dimensity 8000 SoC comes with 4x Cortex-A78 clocked at 2.75 GHz. It also got 4x Cortex-A55 clocked at 2.0 GHz CPU cores.
The Dimensity 8100 SoC could use a 3.05 GHz clocked CPU but built on outdated ARM v8 architecture. The Dimensity 8100 will not have much difference when compared with 8000 SoC apart from overclocked speeds.
