With an ongoing decline in market sales due to Chip shortage, Samsung saw a huge dip in the mid-range and budget segment this year. With 2022 on the way, we got some exciting news for those planning to buy Samsung mid-range smartphones next year. Previously we saw leaks popping out revealing the key specs of Galaxy A23 & Galaxy A13.
Now we got a new report that probably makes us hard to believe that Samsung will introduce this useful feature to the mid-range segment. As per the source, the Galaxy A33 and other Samsung mid-range devices will come with waterproof support starting in 2022.
Probably Samsung is planning to take on Chinese competitors by offering the waterproof feature on their mid-range. Not just that it will also help Samsung to simplify the production process for phone back cover further which indirectly reduce the cost.
So from next year, Samsung will reduce the number of injection on the back cover from 2 to 1. Plastics are injected into molds, and surfaces are coated using spray paint to give a product color. An industry official has said, “Reducing injections and coating will lead to significant cost savings.”.
We are still unsure whether the devices will get IP68 certification or not at the moment.
