One of the Redmi K50 versions will have a MediaTek Dimensity 2000 CPU (via My Drivers). The new processor will replace MediaTek’s existing flagship, the Dimensity 1200, and the Redmi K50 may be one among the first to use it. The other variant will include the Snapdragon 870 SoC.
It’s not the first time Redmi has chosen a premium Dimensity processor for its K series. Historically, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition had Dimensity 1000 Plus, the Redmi K40 Gaming had Dimensity 1200, and the K50 series will soon have Dimensity 2000.
The Dimensity 2000 is a flagship processor that, according to benchmarks, will directly compete with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 898 chip. AnTuTu score of over a million was recently leaked.
The CPU will have 1x 3.0GHz X2 super big core, 3x 2.85GHz large cores, and 4x 1.8GHz small cores. It’ll have a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU.
Notably, the Redmi K50 with Dimensity 2000 is expected to be a standard model. The Pro or Pro+ variant should use the same Snapdragon 898 as the K40 Pro+.
Notably, the Redmi K50 series will likely be marketed under different names outside of China. Consider the Redmi K40, marketed globally as the Poco F3 and in India as the Mi 11X.
