Toward the end of the year 2021, Samsung is gearing up to unveil new smartphones and tablets for the following year. For the previous few days, we’ve heard more about these impending gadgets. Even the chipsets that will power these items have been exposed in a new report.
Reports from The Elec claim that Samsung plans to release 64 smartphones and tablets. In total, there will be 31 models powered by Qualcomm chips, 20 models powered by new Exynos SoCs developed by Samsung and AMD, 14 models powered by MediaTek chipsets, and three models powered by UNISOC chipsets.
In total, Samsung’s smartphone and tablet chipset lineup for 2022 will include 64 models.
Exynos has 20, MediaTek has 14, and UNISOC has three.
Aside from mentioning individual devices, the Galaxy S22 series will be powered by Exynos and Qualcomm. Another rumor claims the devices will have Qualcomm processors instead of Exynos.
Furthermore, the Galaxy S22 FE is expected to use Exynos chips and go into production in Q3 of 2022, according to reports. Qualcomm and Exynos processors are used in the Galaxy S21, whereas Exynos is used in the Galaxy S21-FE.
There will be no Qualcomm chipsets in the Galaxy Z Fold4 or the Galaxy Flip4, however, there will be an Exynos chipset for Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Ultra.
The Galaxy A53 will be powered by Exynos instead of Qualcomm. Similarly, the Galaxy A33 will switch to Exynos from MediaTek. Until now, Samsung’s Galaxy A73 has been driven by a Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 778G.
The above-mentioned details, however, are susceptible to change as the worldwide semiconductor shortage persists.
