The Snapdragon 888 was unveiled at the Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020, and its successor will be unveiled at this year’s event, which begins on November 30 and runs through December 1. Xiaomi was one of the first companies to announce a phone powered by 888 (less than a month later), and it is expected to do the same this year. You can probably guess where this is headed.

The Xiaomi 12 is likely to be the first phone to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor and to go on sale before the end of the year. It has been revealed by leakster Digital Chat Station that the vanilla model will offer 100W fast charging — less than the 120W support found on the Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11T Pro (among other models).

The vanilla will be more 11T Pro than Ultra, however, due to the lack of a periscope lens and a high-quality ultra wide camera on the vanilla. However, according to DCS, the main camera will be improved, with a 50 MP sensor (instead of the 108 MP sensor used last year) and a higher resolution.

The phone will have a huge battery (we haven’t seen any specific capacity estimates yet), but it will have a thin design overall. It will also have a high screen-to-body ratio and a smaller punch hole for the selfie camera than the previous model.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is expected to sport a triple 50 MP camera (wide, ultra wide, and tele), but that was back in August, so we don’t know if plans have changed since then.
