Video released by MediaTek shows the first 4nm smartphone chipset, but rumor has it that the company has already lined up a number of customers. AnTuTu has just recorded the first time an Android device has passed 1 million points. vivo is among them.
The MT6983 powers the Vivo V2184 phone. According to the rumors, the phone is expected to be a new X-series model with the Dimensity 2000 chip. Both Ice Universe and Digital Chat Station announced a score of 1,002,220. AnTuTu has not yet confirmed the validity of the score.
For comparison, the Red Magic 6 with a Snapdragon 888 (the current top Android phone) got 858,734. Only Apple’s M1-powered iPad Pros have sold more than a million units to date.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that MediaTek has obtained a 4 nm order with TSMC, unlike both Qualcomm and Samsung, which will both use Samsung’s 4 nm foundries for their devices.
There will be a 3.0-GHz Cortex-X2 core, three A710s, and four A510s in the Dimensity 2000 according to DCS. The Exynos 2200’s X2 core is also rumored to be running at 3.0 GHz, and a shot of a Snapdragon 898-powered phone shows the X2 core running at the same 3.0 GHz. As a result, the CPU performance of the three chipsets may be evenly matched, but they will all have distinct GPUs – ARM Mali-G710 MC10 for the Dimensity 2000, an AMD RDNA 2 for the Exynos 2200, and a new Adreno for the Snapdragon 898.
