With the Pixel 6 series, Google has introduced its own custom-built Tensor processors. New information suggests that Google is working on the next generation of Tensor processors, which will most likely be included in the Pixel 7 line of smartphones.
People at 9To5Google have discovered a reference to a new Pixel codename called “Cloudripper”. Even though the Pixel 6 series has only just hit the market. For the time being, we only have a codename to go on, but according to 9to5Google, this could refer to the chip that powers the Pixel 7 series rather than the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. As a result, the Cloudripper might be the codename for the development board that shares hardware with the other smartphone models from the same manufacturer.
The codename “Slider” was previously used for both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. As a result, Cloudripped might be linked to Google’s second-generation Tensor chips. It is designated as “GS201”. If you’re not aware, the Tensor chips in Pixel 6 came with a “GS101” product number. The increase of 100 in the model number could indicate the arrival of the next generation of Tensor processors.
We shouldn’t be surprised, though, if the Cloudripper has already been found in Pixel-related apps right now. Keep in mind that for the time being. It’s too early to make any firm comments, so check back for updates.
