Google’s Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the next flagships. Everyone is thrilled that Google has finally improved the hardware in all the right ways. Officially releasing on October 19th, a huge new leak has confirmed almost everything we’ve disclosed and revealed more about the forthcoming headline pair.
Previously we got the news about the new Tensor chip in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. This contains benchmark core settings as well as additional details like codecs. Our exclusive Google Pixel 6 leak included data from the phone itself. After inadvertently publishing entire marketing pages for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, @evleaks has noticed it.
Lots to unpack here. The pages are extensive, so we suggest looking them up. If not, we’ll discuss some of the key aspects that are yet unknown.
First, the marketing sites indicate that both phones include the much-anticipated Magic Eraser feature, as reported in our Pixel 6 Camera Features leak. The Magic Eraser may be used to erase undesirable items from photographs. The face deblurring function is currently marketed as “Face Unblur”. With the new Pixels, you’ll be able to capture realistic skin tones throughout the spectrum. Interestingly, one of the pictures says “Pixel Camera, Google Apps, and more” rather than “Google Camera”.
A 50MP main back camera, which we said was the Samsung GN1, would also be included. Aside from that, you know where to go to find out which sensors are utilized and their MP counts.
Then charging speed. According to the small print on these sites, Google is finally increasing charging speeds to 30W wired for both devices. But only the Qi-certified Google Pixel Stand 2nd generation can charge the Pixel 6 and Pixel Pro at 21W and 23W, respectively. You will need to buy a charger to achieve any of these high charging rates, since Google does not provide one in the package. It will be offered separately from the Google Pixel Stand 2nd Gen. You may also get an authentic transparent case.
Other features listed on both sites include Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68. According to earlier reports, only the Pixel 6 Pro has an LTPO display with a 10Hz – 120Hz variable refresh rate.
Face Unlock is another Pixel 6 Pro unique since it is absent from the Pixel Security app’s security-related visuals. As previously stated, the front cameras on both smartphones are different.
Google Pixel 6 Live Translate
Thankfully, the other software functions are shared by both smartphones. Live Translate, Live Space widgets with a flight card, and ongoing activities are all mentioned. Google also promises “at least 5 years of upgrades,” but does not clarify whether this includes platform and security fixes. This extended update cycle is enabled by Google’s control over its own Google Tensor processor.
