Xiaomi said yesterday that the new CIVI series smartphones would be unveiled on September 27 in China, and today it teased the design on Weibo.
The camera island, paint job, and centered punch-hole screen of the Xiaomi CIVI resemble the Vivo X60 Pro Shimmer Blue version.
Close inspection reveals the Civi’s back cover has a starry pattern, evoking memories of Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G Astral Blue and Reno6 Pro 5G Aurora. This plainly reveals where Xiaomi’s product team got the inspiration for the CIVI, which is odd for a company that frequently accuses competitors of copying.
Despite the copied design, the Xiaomi CIVI looks stunning, and one of the teasers shows Dolby Atmos audio improvements. There is a USB-C connector surrounded by antenna lines, implying a metal frame. Because there’s no 3.5mm headphone port, you’ll need to use wireless headphones if you like charging while using your phone.
Xiaomi CIVI measures 71.5mm wide & 6.98mm thick. It weighs around 166 grams.
Xiaomi CIVI Specs:
While Xiaomi’s teasers only show one color, a Weibo user’s live pictures reveal a black variant as well. According to a Weibo leak, the CIVI will have the Snapdragon 778G SoC, 6.55″ FullHD+ 120Hz screen. It will feature a 64MP primary camera & a 32MP selfie camera. The Xiaomi CIVI will pack 4,500 mAh battery with 55W charging. This final point is backed up by the tipster Digital Chat Station, which provided many images of the CIVI, including the included 55W adaptor. See them below.
There’s also an unboxing video showing the CIVI running MIUI 12.5.1 and having 256GB of storage. Four days before the launch, expect Xiaomi to confirm a few Civi features to create excitement.
