As the rumored October 4 stable release of Google’s Android 12 approaches, smartphone OEMs are gradually rolling out their first public betas to consumers. Samsung has started distributing its One UI 4 based on Android 12 to users of the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra.
Registration begins today, September 14, and anyone interested in participating in the beta must register via their Samsung Members account since available spots are limited. The beta program will be accessible in South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Germany, and Poland.
The significant improvements in One UI 4 begin with the abundance of customization choices, which include new themes, configuration settings for the home screen, icons, and notifications, as well as new wallpapers. There are a number of new resizable widgets, as well as new augmented reality emojis and stickers.
Another area where One UI 4 improves is privacy, with new indications in the notification bar indicating whether an app is utilizing your camera and/or microphone. There are toggle switches for deactivating the two sensors entirely.
Additionally, One UI 4 has a permission history tab that stores user choices for up to a week. Additionally, you may monitor data consumption individually for permissions and applications.
