Galaxy S22 Ultra

According to a post on Korea’s Clien message boards (via Tron), Samsung’s North American flagships will almost certainly include a Qualcomm chip, presumably the Snapdragon 898. However, Verizon has requested the Exynos 2200, and negotiations are underway.

Due to production issues and low yield, it’s possible Exynos 2200 may be available only in a few markets, according to an earlier report.

Several benchmark scores have been leaked that suggest Exynos 2200. This may surpass Qualcomm’s chip and be on par with Apple’s Bionic SoCs.

This explains why Verizon wants the chip so badly. It’s predicted that Europe and Southeast Asia will keep using Exynos chips, but Korea & India will switch to Snapdragon. Additionally, Samsung plans to equip Chinese models with Snapdragon chips, but China Telecom is reportedly trying to obtain the Exynos 2200.

Samsung has reportedly also faced some internal disagreements due to the yield issue. In addition, Samsung is reportedly using the demand for the Exynos 2200 in negotiating price reductions with Qualcomm for the Snapdragon 898, which seems like a win-win scenario for Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy A-series to use AMD GPU powered Exynos SoC:

The budget Galaxy A series will be powered by AMD’s Exynos chip, according to another post on Clien (via Tron).

Samsung is reported to test four AMD-based SoC configurations in late June. This includes one with Arm’s X2 processor, two with Cortex X1 chips, and one with the A78 processor.

There are reportedly two compute units (CU) in the Exynos A78 chip. This may be the successor to the Exynos 1080. A mid-tier phone can use its performance.

According to reports, two Chinese companies will also use a more powerful chip that will have four CUs. Vivo could be one of these. We are currently testing processors with low clock speeds.
