Realme 8i

After the Realme 8 and 8 Pro were announced in March, the Realme 8 5G followed in April. Announcing two new members to its 8 series today, the company announced that two more models will be added on September 9.

Realme confirmed to the media that the 8i will have an Helio G96 SoC and 120Hz screen, while the 8s 5G will have a Dimensity 810 chip. Both smartphones will also feature Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE), allowing users to expand their phones’ RAM virtually using the internal storage.

Although Realme hasn’t revealed anything else about either of these smartphones, previous leaks have left little to the imagination.

In addition to a 6.5″ 90Hz screen, the Realme 8s 5G will sport 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage. The phone will run Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out of the box and have 64MP and 16MP cameras, respectively. Also included will be a fingerprint sensor on the side, as well as a 5,000mAh battery that can charge at 33W.

In comparison, the Realme 8i’s display is 6.59-inches FullHD+ with a 16-megapixel camera hidden in the left-hand corner. The rear panel of the phone will house 50MP primary, 2MP macro and 2MP depth cameras.

Under the hood, the 8i will have 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, along with a 5,000 mAh battery. Besides the fingerprint scanner, the 8i will presumably run on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

A few of the 8i and 8s 5G’s features will be confirmed by Realme in the days leading up to their official unveiling.
