A new “family” of smart devices is on its way, making it possible to impatiently wait for the most exciting Microsoft Surface event in quite some time, while also waiting on the rest of Apple and Samsung’s fall product announcements.
It is HMD Global – an outfit based in Finland – which is responsible for branding, marketing, and distribution of Nokia-branded Android smartphones. It is not known what the company will announce during its October 6 event, but the large box pictured next to a lineup of existing handsets is likely to contain a tablet.
In particular, the company is expected to announce its first tablet after the N1 in 2014, rumored to be the T20, with a very affordable price. Nokia’s T20 may be short on power, display performance, or optics, but it could still compete against Amazon’s Fire lineup and Apple’s new “standard” iPad for the title of best budget tablet this holiday season.
Given that HMD teased this event for roughly three weeks, we highly doubt it will feature solely one product. Let alone a low to mid-range Android slate. As a result, the Nokia G50 5G phone should launch on October 6. It’s likely that the Nokia G300 and X100 will follow.
It appears that Nokia’s first post-9 PureView flagship will not be revealed any time soon. Although the two names do suggest more powerful specs than the likes of the G50 and X20. We cannot even hint at the device’s actual release.
