In its pre-announcement (or semi-announcement?) of its upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro flagship smartphones, Google promised all the details (and release date) for this fall. If that’s the case, when will it happen?
As previously reported, Google is rumored to announce the duo at Apple’s big iPhone event on September 13. The announcement seemed like a foolish move from Google, which is refuted by a new rumor now. In a way.
A new rumor suggests that Google will release the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro on October 28
However, it appears that the Pixels won’t be released on that date despite the announcement date being September 13. They’ll be available then. On October 19, pre-orders will allegedly begin.
This doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of a September 13 event. Sony has a habit of waiting a long time before pre-ordering a new product. So one month wouldn’t be that much, but this hasn’t been Google’s practice in the past. The most likely time to announce a release date is October 18 or 19 (a Monday or a Tuesday, respectively), assuming October 28 is confirmed.
However, this is just speculation. To be fair, the source of the new information is insistent that the dates are correct – so we should take that at face value.
