Reliance Jio to release its new 4G entry-level aka JioPhone Next later next week. Google has partnered with this manufacturer to develop the device. The device may be available for preorder starting this week, we learned a few days ago. As of now, there is no official update. Recently, a TV news channel appears to have reported on the pricing details of the JioPhone Next.
On Monday (August 30), ET Now (a business and finance news channel) reported on JioPhone pricing and offers, citing sources, according to Economic Times (via 91Mobiles).
According to the report, JioPhone Next will come in two versions, Basic and Advanced. These versions will cost you ₹5,000 ($68) and ₹7,000 ($96) respectively. Buyers will need to pay only 10% upfront & the balance is financed by the partners.
Jio has partnered with five banks for financing the sale of its upcoming handsets, including State Bank of India, Piramal Capital, IDFC First Assure, and DMI Finance. According to reports, each bank has promised business worth ₹10,000 crores. The report suggests that Jio has assured credit support worth 2,500 crores for four non-banking financial companies (NBFCs).
The JioPhone Next may sell over 50 million units within 6 months of its release. Distributors and financiers have been given internal sales targets by the telecom company.
Several different manufacturers manufacture Jiophone Next. It includes UTL Neolyncs, a joint venture between Neolync Solutions and UTL Group. The JioPhone Next will go on sale on September 10.
