An adorable teaser for Google’s Pixel 6 smartphones has been posted on its @madebygoogle account. In the picture, four Pixel 6s were arranged as a grid of three, all showing different colors to showcase Android 12’s Material You feature, which pulls colors out of your wallpaper and uses them in the UI. Interestingly, this teaser plays off Drake’s new album cover for “Certified Lover Boy” where emojis arranged in the same manner usually represent pregnant women.
#TeamPixel and #Pixel6 are tagged in the teaser, “Certified Pixel Lovers”. It’s worth mentioning that the bottom of the page has a disclaimer that says: “The device has not been authorized according to the rules of the [FCC] or other relevant agencies. This device cannot be sold until the required legal authorizations are obtained.” It may take a while for the Pixel 6 duo to be announced.
What We Know so far:
Several reports indicate that consumers will be able to purchase the Google Pixel 6 starting on October 28. The announcement occurring sometime ahead of that date. Oppo’s Breeno assistant confirmed that Android 12 might arrive in September, but it is unclear when the actual Pixel 6 announcement event will take place.
In order to power the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro, Samsung made the Tensor chipset. It is probably an unreleased version of the Exynos chipset. Combined, both smartphones will feature 6.4-inch FullHD+ displays with 90Hz refresh rates, and 6.7-inch QHD+ displays with 120Hz refresh rates. These devices will feature a single selfie camera.
There will be an update to the camera hardware. Samsung’s GN1 sensor will be used for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro’s main camera. There is a 12MP ultrawide sensor too. A new 48MP telephoto camera will be included in the Google Pixel 6 Pro. According to reports, this device’s video quality should improve. It should be as good as or better than that of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
