Apple announces the new iPhone 13 series with tiny notch & upto 120Hz refresh rate display.

Looks like the wait is finally over as Apple unveils its next flagship for this year with iPhone 13 series. The new iPhone 13 series will again include four new models with iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max. The new iPhone 13 series will again bring some improvement in terms of design and processing power.

Apple iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Mini:

Design & Display:

The new iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Mini looks identical to each other with the smaller notch on the front. Yes, this time both the new iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Mini come with almost slimmer bezels than the predecessor. The new iPhone 13 Mini will sport smaller 5.4 inches OLED display whereas the iPhone 13 with larger 6.1 inches OLED display. Both of them come with a notch over the top carrying the Face ID.

On the back, the new iPhone 13 Mini & iPhone 13 will feature the same iPhone 12 like dual rear cameras with a glossy glass back. The only change we noticed is that the cameras are now placed diagonally instead of one above the other. It comes with iPhone 5 like aluminum chassis to give it a premium look and feel. The iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Mini measures just 7.4 mm thick. Further, iPhone 13 weighs 164g and the iPhone 13 Mini weighs 135g.

The new iPhone 13 Mini & iPhone 13 will come with a new Super Retina XDR display with a resolution of 2352*1170p (iPhone 13) & 2340*1080p (iPhone 13 Mini) along with new tougher protection on top with Corning’s latest Victus glass with Ceramic Sheild. Both the devices also feature Dolby Vision, HDR 10 support. Both the phones do come with an IP68 rating making them dust and water-resistant.

Processor:

The new iPhone 13 Mini & iPhone 13 comes powered by the world’s fastest Apple A15 Bionic SoC. The new Apple A15 Bionic is built on the TSMC 3nm process that gives a great performance. The 6-core CPU delivers a 40 percent jump in performance, and the 5-core GPU delivers an 80 percent leap in graphics performance compared to the previous generation of an iPad mini. Advanced machine learning (ML) functions are powered by a 16-core Neural Engine and new ML accelerators in the CPU, delivering 2x faster ML tasks than its predecessor.

Camera:

The iPhone 13 Mini & iPhone 13 will come with dual rear cameras with the 12MP Wide main sensor with f/1.6 aperture and 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture, 120-degrees FOV, 13mm focal length, OIS, and LED flash. The device will also get Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, and improved Night Mode. It will also support Dolby Vision HDR video recording capabilities. Both the iPhones ship with 12MP f/2.2 aperture selfie cameras with FaceID support.

Connectivity & Battery:

Both the devices will come with Magsafe charging aka 15W wireless charging support. The entry-level iPhone 13 will boast 5G connectivity exclusive to US models & will support the faster mmWave standard. Apple will introduce Smart Data Mode which toggles between 4G and 5G based on app bandwidth to increase the battery life.

The connectivity options include Wifi-6, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, lightning port, and Dual SIM with 5G support. Apple will not include the charger and earphones along with the new iPhone 13 series. iPhone 13 comes with a 3095 mAh battery whereas iPhone 13 Mini with a lower 2406 mAh battery. It comes with 20W fast charge support. It runs on iOS 15 out of the box.

Pricing:

The new iPhone 13 Mini price starts at $699 (Rs.51,100/-) for base 128GB & $799 (Rs.58,500/-) for iPhone 13 with 128GB. Both the devices will come in three storage options with 128GB/256GB/512GB. The new iPhone 13 Mini & iPhone 13 will go on sale from Sept 24 in India.

The iPhone 13 & iPhone 13 Mini goes on pre-orders from Sept 17 in India. The iPhone 13 starts from 79,900 INR for 128GB, Rs.89,900 for 256GB and 512GB at Rs.1,09,900. The iPhone 13 Mini 128GB at 69,900/-, 256GB at Rs.79,900/- & 512GB at Rs.99,000/-.

Apple iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max:

Display & Design:

Apple’s top-end iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max. The new iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max will arrive in graphite, gold, silver, and sierra blue. The new iPhone 13 Pro will sport smaller 6.1 inches OLED display whereas the iPhone 13 Pro Max with larger 6.7 inches OLED display. Both of them come with a tiny notch over the top carrying the Face ID.

The new iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max will come with new Super Retina XDR display along with the resolution of 2778*1284p (iPhone 13 Pro) & 2778*1446p (iPhone 13 Pro Max) & new protection on top with Corning’s latest Victus glass. It comes with a ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It features stainless steel is once again and comes with a glass back. Both the phones do come with an IP68 rating making them dust and water-resistant.

Probably the iPhone 13 Pro series too look identical to iPhone 13 but with an additional camera on the back. The iPhone 13 Pro & iPhone 13 Pro Max measures slimmer at 7.4mm thick. Further, iPhone 13 Pro Max weighs 189g and the iPhone 13 Pro weighs 228g.
