With Amazon now introducing two new television lines branded Fire TV Omni Series and Fire TV 4-series, the e-commerce giant appears to be not done taking over our homes. Amazon is challenging established television brands like Samsung, Sony, LG, TCL, and Hisense with these new products. It is also worthwhile to mention brands such as Xiaomi, realme, and OnePlus.
Amazon Fire TV Omni Series
Starting on October 27, buyers can pick up the Fire TV Omni Series in 43″, 50″, 55″, 65″, and 75″ sizes, all of which are 4K TVs with 60Hz refresh rates, HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Digital. A Dolby Vision option is also available on the premium 75″ and 65″ models.
There’s nothing unusual about the design of the TVs, although they are quite similar to others. As for the 65″ and 75″ models, Amazon has adopted the same design with bezels that measure just 1.1mm, while the smaller models have a less-premium look and feel.
Thanks to the built-in microphones on the Omni Series, you don’t need the remote to watch your favorite content. Just ask Alexa to play your favorite show or movie or control that smart appliance. Those concerned about privacy can turn off the microphones electronically through the switch. It also supports two-way video calling with Alexa Communications, however, a webcam is necessary separately.
Each of the Fire TV Omni Series TVs with Bluetooth 5.0 is equipped with 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI eARC 2.1 port, 1 USB port, an ethernet port, a cable or antenna input, an optical port, and an IR emitter. A voice remote and IR emitter will be included with the TVs, in addition to the two 8W speakers.
The pricing starts from $409.99 (Rs.30,300/-) for 43″, $509.99 (Rs.37,500/-) for 50″, $559.99 (Rs.41,200/-) for 55″. The premium 65″ cost $829.99 (Rs.61,100/-) & 75″ at $1099.99 (Rs.81,000/-) in the US.
Amazon Fire TV 4-series
Amazon’s Fire TV 4-series TVs are available in 43″, 50″, and 55″ sizes. Each screen features 4K LED with HDR 10 and HLG. As well, they have dual 8W speakers and the same port choices as the Omni Series. How are they different?
The Alexa voice remote or the Fire TV app are the only ways to control Alexa hands-free. Additionally, Alexa Communications does not offer two-way video calls.
Starting on October 27, you can also buy Fire TV 4-series. A 43-inch model will cost $369.99 (Rs.27,300/-), a 50-inch model is $469.99 (Rs.34,600/-), and a 55-inch model will be $519.99 (Rs.38,300/-). Pre-orders are currently being taken for both models.
The availability of Amazon TVs in other regions has not been announced.
