Xiaomi is working on a new Redmi phone with a Snapdragon 870 chipset and 120Hz OLED screen, according to a tipster on Weibo. Redmi K40S or the upcoming Redmi K50 family could be the device in question.
“Digital Chat Station” reveals a few more details about the handset itself. It is likely that the Redmi phone will come with a 6.7-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, and it will have a 50MP main camera.
Keep your breath, though. SM8250 is the model number of the phone being reported by the tipster, which, if true, means it could be a Redmi K50. It is likely that the device will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and support 67W fast charging. Additionally, there may be an 8GB or 12GB RAM variant with up to 256GB of storage. A better haptic system could also benefit the new Redmi device, especially given that it will target the budget-flagship segment.
