The Pixel 6 smartphone series is coming soon from Google. We already know some things about its latest flagship lineup, but an Android executive revealed that it will also have an under-display fingerprint scanner.
Search engine giant Google announced earlier this year that it would overhaul the launch of its upcoming flagship series. Earlier this year, we learned that Google is set to release a new and proprietary processor for their Pixel 6 lineup. On Twitter, we saw the Pixel 6 series’ under-display fingerprint scanner in action. Hiroshi Lockheimer, head of Google’s Android division, shared a screenshot of the Pixel 6’s lock screen.
A comment in the tweet stated that the Android official was using the Material You theme engine to try out new wallpaper combinations. In this screenshot, you can see the fingerprint sensor icon located under the clock widget. A few minutes after posting this tweet, the executive deleted it. A copy of Lockheimer’s deleted tweet was reposted by XDADevelopers Editor in Chief, Mishaal Rahman.
According to Rahman, the Pixel 6 will have a screen resolution of 1,140 x 3,120px rather than 1,440 x 3,200px. Additionally, Verizon’s 5G network is also clearly visible in this screenshot. Right now, we only have the following information. So we will keep you updated on new information regarding the Pixel 6 series.
