Vivo finally announced the next affordable mid-range 5G phone in India with Vivo Y72 5G. The new Vivo Y72 5G comes in Prism Magic and Slate Gray colors. It will go on sale through all leading offline retail outlets in India from July 15.
The new Vivo Y72 5G will be nothing but rebranded version of the Chinese model Vivo Y52 5G T1 Edition and not the one launched in Thailand. The new Vivo Y72 5G will look similar to the Chinese model with a waterdrop notch in the front and dual rear cameras. It measures 8.4 mm thick and 185g in weight.

The new Vivo Y72 5G will sport 6.58 inches FHD+ Halo FullView display with aspect ratio 20.5:9. It will feature 90Hz refresh rate support. Now the change is in terms of the processor which is SD480 SoC instead of MediaTek Dimensity 700. It is coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option & microSD card support. Vivo is also giving the 4GB Virtual RAM feature on Vivo Y72.
The major disappointment is in terms of cameras where the Vivo Y72 5G gets dual cameras with 48MP main sensor and 2MP depth with LED flash. The camera features some interesting modes like Pose Master, Face Beauty, and Super Night Mode camera modes. There is an 8MP selfie camera under the waterdrop notch.
The Vivo Y72 packs a larger 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charge support. It runs on Android 11 OS with FunTouch OS 11 on top. The connectivity option includes Dual SIM with Dual 5G, 4G LTE, and VoLTE support, Dual Band Wifi, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C port.
Pricing & launch offers:
Vivo Y72 5G will cost Rs.20,990/- for 8GB+128GB option in India. The launch offers include flat Rs.1500/- cashback for HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Bank users. Vivo is also bundling one-time free screen replacement along with the phone.
