Nokia XR20, Nokia’s no-compromises smartphone, is here. Nokia has called it life-proof. It’s durable in both hardware & software. Starting with the former – the Nokia XR20 has a ruggedized casing, which is MIL-STD810H-certified to withstand drops from 1.8 meters. The XR20 has standard IP68 water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus, so it doesn’t need any screen protectors.
It is an extremely capable smartphone that has all the necessary features. The 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD IPS LCD can light up to 575 nits, and it works with either wet or dry fingers.
Snapdragon 480 chipsets are available with 6GB RAM and 5G connectivity. One configuration comes with 128GB internal storage. The microSD card slot allows for expansion.
The XR20 is only equipped with two cameras: a 48MP 1/2.25″ f/1.8 main and a 13.MP 1/3″ f/2.4 ultrawide units, each with its own LED flash. The 8MP f/2.0 fixed focal unit serves as the selfie cam.
Nokia XR20 is running Android 11 and Nokia has promised to provide four years of monthly security and three years’ major OS updates.
Back to hardware, Nokia XR20 features stereo speakers rated up at 96dB with OZO sound playback technology for enhanced detail. Biometrics can be captured using a side-mounted capacitive finger scanner. The XR20 includes a top-placed, custom button you can use to set any action or app.
Finally, the large 4,630mAh battery offers two days of power. It can be charged with either wired or wireless charging at 18W. The Nokia XR20, available in Ultra Blue or Granite Grey for $550. It also comes with a single 6/128GB option. Sales start August 24.
