Oppo Reno6 is set to launch in India on Wednesday, but before this, the company took the time to describe the design process that led to Reno6’s distinctive exterior.
It’s a major component of the “Sparkling Matte” finish, which is a bit absurd. Oppo initially introduced it with the Reno5 Pro 5G. However, after a few tweaks, Oppo is now offering it in all Reno6 models.
How is it made?
It’s an anti-glare glass pane etched in an innovative way to give an attractive appearance. It requires roughly 50 steps which are carried out over a time of 14 hours. This includes cutting the glass, shaping it into the desired 3D shape, and then etching the glass. The most challenging step is the one referred to as the etching.
Glassmakers have to be in clean environments and conduct manual inspections of each piece of glass during each stage. An example of this is when glass panes are sprayed with water and watching the formation of water droplets.
While the Sparkling Matte finish appears delicate, however, the Aurora finish impacts the eye. It utilizes a more advanced Diamond Spectrum procedure that produces five layers. The Aurora finish changes color based on the way it is seen from various angles. The layers include a Bullet Texture layer as well as the PICASUS film. The Color film provides the base color with more green and blue, and the Bullet texture improves the transparency.
Oppo paid close focus to the dimensions of the product and the sparkle of the Reno6 series. Oppo surveyed its customers to find the ideal thickness, which ranged between 7 and 8 millimeters. The ideal weight is 175 grams. Weight can be a bit counterintuitive. A lighter phone could appear to be of less quality. But heavier phones may appear stronger however they shouldn’t be overly heavy.Oppo provided the frames of phones with a flat edge to improve grip.
The brand new AG glass used on the Reno6 PRO 5G features an increase of 200% in hardness. This improves the phone’s durability. It also resists staining and fingerprints.
Launch:
Oppo will release the Reno6 5G and the Reno6 Pro 5G in India on July 14. The phones will come with ColorOS 11.3 that adds an expansion of RAM feature and privacy features.
The latest OS version will come with gaming capabilities (4D Immersive Gaming Experience and Game Focus Mode) and optimizations such as Quick Startup, Hyperboost (v4.1 for the Pro and vanilla versions) and O-Relax mode.
