As per the blog post, Pete Lau the CEO of OnePlus and Oppo has shared the news on OnePlus forums. The reason behind the merger of OnePlus with Oppo is that they are growing their product portfolio to give more options for the users. And to continue giving the highest-quality OnePlus experience possible they have to adapt as a team and as a brand.
Last year OnePlus has integrated with Oppo to better streamline our operations and capitalize on additional shared resources. This positive impact made them merge the OnePlus brand with Oppo. The CEO also confirmed that OnePlus will still try to be an independent brand and will continue launching OnePlus branded phones in the future.
