Asus is back in India with its new ROG Phone 5 which went on sale last month. For the past year, Asus has cut down its smartphone launches in India with Zenfone 7 series never saw the light of the day. Now we have some good news for those waiting for a compact flagship from Asus as it’s all set to launch the successor to Asus 6Z with Asus 8Z soon.
Yes, the new Asus Zenfone 8 & Zenfone 8 Flip has now been spotted on Google Play Listing hinting at the Indian launch. Finally this we can see that Asus is considering launching a premium flagship in India to compete with OnePlus, Xiaomi, and iQOO. As per the listing, we can see that the Asus Zenfone 8 Indian variant model number I006D is marketed as simply Asus 8Z.
The reason behind the change of name is that Asus is been banned by High Court orders to avoid using Zenfone branding in India. So we can even expect the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip might be branded as Asus 8Z Flip. With this listing, we can expect the launch is pretty much near and we are set all our eyes on the pricing of the new Zenfone 8 series in India.
