After the debut of SD750G and SD768G last year we now have another new 7 series chipset making its debut soon. Yes, Qualcomm is all set to launch another mid-range 5G chipset with the new SD780G SoC soon. The tipster also revealed the specs of the new SD780G SoC.
As per the source, the new SD780G SoC will come with the same 5nm process as the SD888 SoC which is again made by Samsung. The SD780G SoC is an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It packs Adreno 642 which brings True 10-bit HDR gaming, ultra-smooth gaming, and updateable GPU drivers.
The new SD780G also gets the latest Spectra 570 ISP which can shoot all three cameras at once. It also gets 4K HDR and HDR10+ video capturing. It also gets the 6th gen AI Engine, the Hexagon 770, which boasts up to 12 TOPs AI performance. The SD780G also comes with Snapdragon X53 5G modem-RF System with download speeds of up to 3.3Gbps on sub-6GHz frequencies.
Qualcomm also adds Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 that offers multi-gigabit Wi-Fi 6 speeds up to 3.6Gbps. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and comes with the same SD888 SoC powered Snapdragon Sound tech. Lastly, the source confirms that SD780G might launch sometime today and will make its debut with Mi 11 Lite 5G by Q2 of 2021.
