Looks like Reliance Jio is set to shake the electronics market again after the successful Jio Phone. Yes, we have now got a massive leak that reveals the details of the upcoming cheaper laptop aka JioBook. Yes, Jio is now planning to enter the laptop market this COVID era soon with its first laptop aka JioBook.

As per the source, Jio had already in talks with Qualcomm in later 2018 for laptops with cellular connectivity. Now finally the talks have been turned into reality after a long wait of three years with JioBook. The source revealed that JioBook will be manufactured by third-party China-based Bluebank Communication Technology who has also developed devices running on KaiOS in the past.

The new JioBook will sport a 1366*768p resolution display of unknown screen size and comes with a webcam. The JioBook looks similar to any other traditional laptop with a chicklet keyboard and standard display. It will be powered by SD665 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM & 64GB eMMC 5.1 storage. It is running on Android 10 OS which is branded as JioOS by the company.

The JioBook development began sometime in Sept last year and will continue till the first half of 2021. As of now, the new JioBook is under Engineering Validation Test stage and will soon enter the Product Validation Test by April. It comes with connectivity options like a mini HDMI connector for video output, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3-axis accelerometer, and a Qualcomm audio chip.

The laptop will come with pre-installed Jio applications, including JioMeet, JioPages, JioStore and more. Not just that it will also include popular Microsoft apps like Microsoft Teams, Edge, and Office.
