With Android being very slow in terms of rolling out the update to their devices we saw many brands still lacking behind. We even saw brands like Google, OnePlus promising three years of regular updates and two major Android updates. Now Samsung has pushed its boundaries and announced that it will support four long years of Security updates to its devices.
Normally Samsung offers just two major Android updates for its Galaxy devices including the flagships. Now Samsung has officially announced that they will extend the Android updates for almost four years from the date of launch. So basically additional one year of Android security patches for its Galaxy devices.
This new update isn’t applicable for new devices but for only eligible Galaxy devices released since 2019. The new update will be applicable for both monthly and quarterly security patch devices. Samsung also revealed the huge list of smartphones that will get one additional year of security patches.

The devices include Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Fold 5G, Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, Galaxy Z Flip, & Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Under the S-series, it includes Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 5G, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20+ 5G, Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21+ 5G, & GalaxyS21 Ultra 5G.
