Previously we saw Qualcomm announcing the top-end flagship aka the SD888 SoC earlier this month. Later we saw Xiaomi becoming one of the vendors who announced its very first flagship with SD888 SoC earlier this week with Mi 11. Now we have early leaks about the successor to SD888 SoC.
Yes, you heard it right we are almost entering 2021 and got the leak about the late 2021 flagship launch SD888+ SoC. For the past few years, we saw Qualcomm launching two flagship chipsets each year right from SD855+ to SD865+ SoC. Now the same is going to follow this year too with all-new SD888+ SoC.
As per the tipster, Qualcomm has already begun works on a successor to SD888 SoC with SD888+ SoC. The new SD888+ SoC is now scheduled to launch by the second half of 2021. Not just that, the tipster also provides early specs of the SD888+ SoC which will ship with 3.1 GHz similar to SD865+ SoC.
Further, the source also states that Qualcomm has secretly locked the SD888 processor clock speeds to 800 MHz. This is to prevent suppliers from shipping the SD888 SoC powered device with overclocked speeds.
