Samsung also unveiled the latest foldable smartphone with the new Galaxy Z Fold2 today. The new Galaxy Z Fold2 will arrive in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze colours. It also comes with a customized hinge in Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold, Metallic Red and Metallic Blue colours.
Samsung is again partnering with iconic New York fashion house Thom Browne to deliver a limited Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne Edition. The Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne edition is also available for pre-orders in select markets and will roll out from September 25 and will set you back as it cost $3299 (Rs.2,41,000/-).
The new Galaxy Z Fold2 comes with a price tag of $1999 (Rs.1,46,000/-) in the US. Currently, the device is on pre-orders right from today in the US, South Korea and Europe. The new Galaxy Z Fold2 will go on sale from Sept 18. No word on Indian launch and availability.
The new Galaxy Z Fold2 comes with hinge technology that allows it to fold like a book which even saw with the original Fold. This time the device looks more stunning as it ships with the larger outer display than original. It comes with a premium metal built and weighs around. It measures 6.9 mm when unfolded and 16.9 mm folded. The device is heavy at 282g.
The new Galaxy Z Fold2 sports outer display of 6.2 inches HD+(816 x 2,260p) 60Hz Super AMOLED Infinity-O panel. When unfolded the device features a whopping 7.6 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X (1,768 x 2,208p) panel with 120 Hz refresh rate using Samsung Ultra-Thin Glass. It comes with HDR10+ support.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 comes with SD865+ SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone features 5G connectivity, both sub-6 GHz and mmWave. The new Galaxy Z Fold2 features triple rear cameras with 12MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and Dual Pixel AF, 12MP f/2.2 Ultra-wide sensor along with 12MP f/2.0 aperture telephoto lens with 2x optical and 10x digital zoom with OIS & LED flash.
There is Dual 10MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture on the outer and inner display. The connectivity option includes Single SIM with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, 5G, NFC, A-GPS, GLONASS, NaVIC, USB Type-C, Wifi-6, Bluetooth 5.2 and AKG-optimized stereo speakers. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It runs on Android 10 OS with One UI 2.1 on top.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 ships with 4500 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support 11 W wireless charging (plus reverse wireless charging). Samsung will let you customize the hinge cover that matches the colour of the phone, but you can pick Ruby Red, Rich Gold, Platinum Silver or Sapphire Blue.
