Looks like Reliance Jio is all set to enter with 5G race later next year. With the new 43rd Annual General Meeting held today, Jio announced they will be soon launching the cheapest 5G phone in India soon. Yes, not 4G but 5G smartphone for India and made in India.
As per the official announcement, Reliance Jio has now partnered with Google to launch the cheapest Android phone with 5G support in India. With almost 300 million still using feature phones in India Jio and Google has now started a new initiative to bring them with an affordable smartphone with 5G support in India.
Apart from the announcement, nothing much about the new Jio Phone 5G is revealed at the moment. Still, we have no details about the specs of the new Jio Phone 5G nor the exact date of launch. With just coming soon tag from Jio we don’t expect the new Jio Phone 5G will launch anytime soon. But can expect the new Jio Phone 5G will be completely made in India right from development to manufacturing.
The Jio Phone 5G might launch later this year or probably 2021. Jio also confirmed that the JioPhone 5G will be available to consumers at a fraction of its current cost. With this, we can expect that the new JioPhone 5G might launch at a price tag of Rs.5000/- in India which might be massive problems for players like Realme and Xiaomi.
