Looks like Samsung is all set to unveil the successor to its first-ever foldable phone Galaxy Fold with Galaxy Fold 2 soon. Previously we saw various leaks suggesting the UTG display being used this time instead of POLED. Further, we got reports revealing the design of the new Galaxy Fold 2.
Now finally the Galaxy Fold 2 has been spotted on 3C listing in China. As per the source, the alleged Galaxy Fold 2 is listed as Samsung SM-F9160 which is indeed the foldable smartphone from the company. Further, the listing reveals that Galaxy Fold 2 will indeed come with 5G support out of the box.
Lastly, the listing reveals that Galaxy Fold 2 will now have 25W fast charging support which is the same what we saw with Galaxy S20 series. This is a major improvement when compared with 15W wired and 10W wireless fast charging on the original. As per various leaks, the Galaxy Fold 2 will indeed arrive with SD865+ SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The Galaxy Fold 2 is all set to go official on Aug 5 along with Galaxy Note20 series.
Further, we have new reports coming which reveals that Samsung might change the Fold line up branding this year. Yes, the new Galaxy Fold 2 will now get a new name the Galaxy Z Fold 2. This sounds weird though as Galaxy Z Flip is also foldable phone so we can expect the Fold 2 will also come under Z-series this year with Galaxy Z Fold 2.
